This particular customer was looking for a product that was quicker to build than a conventional home, less maintenance, and the flex space of having a large garage connected to fit equipment and storage all in the same area as the living. This building fits all of the requirements. Excluding holidays, this project took approximately 60 working days (little over 3 months) to actually construct from time of breaking ground.

Riken was able to engineer the build to use every cubic inch of space. For example, there is a stairway in the garage area that leads to a loft above the living space, which leaves the homeowners with about 900 SF of area they can eventually turn into a media room, office, lounge area, or just keep it for overhead storage. By having this space above, it leaves the garage area wide open without needing any storage closets, racks etc. This means the garage is another 1100 SF of wide open space for all of the owners toys (camper, boat, vehicles, etc.). The garage even has its own bathroom! So no need to track dirt in the house after a long day of working on equipment!

This barndominium offers a full 1100 SF living area, including 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths, frameless glass, a large kitchen that opens up to a very functional living room. It has many upgraded features, like central AC, wood plank wall tile walls, custom cabinets, large baseboards, stained concrete floors, updated LED lighting throughout, etc. The home was constructed to be very low maintenance and that was achieved in every way!
